The dual-fuel design allows the system to operate as a heat pump during mild outdoor temperatures and automatically switch to gas heat in colder conditions, optimizing comfort and energy efficiency year-round.

The system includes the J5HP5042A1000AA outdoor heat pump, rated at 3.5 tons with 14.3 SEER2 efficiency and designed for R454B refrigerant, providing dependable cooling and heat pump performance. Indoor cooling and heat transfer are supported by the J5MXCC017AC6HCA cased evaporator coil, a C-cabinet configuration compatible with 1.5–3.5 ton applications, ensuring proper airflow and system matching.

To optimize refrigerant control, the system includes the 5AYTXVH3A4248A TXV kit, designed for 3.5–4.0 ton R454B coil and air handler applications, improving efficiency and temperature stability. For heating, the system is paired with the J962V100CU5SA gas furnace, featuring two-stage operation, 96% AFUE efficiency, and 100,000 BTUH heating capacity in a C-cabinet design. When properly installed, this matched dual-fuel system delivers quiet operation, reliable performance, and long-term durability.
